After a wide-ranging search, the LHA Board of directors and search committee has finally found a new Executive Director for the LHA organization. Jillian Baldwin will lead LHA starting in early September and going forward. Her experience and credentials are a great match for what the LHA organization needs in order to meet the challenges the future may hold.
Ms. Baldwin has twenty years of experience in the affordable housing industry. She is an experience administrator with expertise in the areas of leadership, operations, financial management and strategic planning. She began her career in housing in 1998 at the New Bern Housing Authority where she held positions in resident services, administration, property and executive management.
Jillian graduated summa cum laude from East Carolina University with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Business Administration and Information Technology. She further solidifies her skillset in business management by actively pursuing her Master’s Degree in Business Administration from North Carolina State University.
She has in-depth program knowledge in the housing industry through various programs including Hope IV, Choice Neighborhoods, Section 8, Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD), Home Investment Partnerships (HOME) and Community Development Block Grants (CDBG). In addition, Jillian has been a member of the small business community for over fifteen years and enjoys being an active member in her community.
Most recently, Jillian held the position of the Deputy Executive Director of the Gary Housing Authority (GHA) where she was responsible for the daily operations of the agency. Under her direction, the GHA experienced substantial turnaround in the areas of asset management, fiscal oversite, and resident and community relations. Under her direction the agency experience an increase in all management indicators as scored by the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
As Jillian moves through her career she continues to be committed to serving the needs of the affordable housing community. She believes that the future of our industry rests in our ability to bring our very best to the table everyday as we serve our residents and community at large. She is extremely excited and grateful for the opportunity to join the Longmont Housing Authority team.
